A GREAT friend visiting me at the West End Arts Festival in La Grange IL

Join me at the West End Arts Festival on September 12 & 13, 10am to 5pm in La Grange IL. I’ve been busy covering myself in wood shavings hoping you’d come take a look at the wonderful items I’ve created!

I call these hurricane bowls. After the hurricanes I was busy collecting downed oak in Florida, enough to create over 20 items. They were very wet, one bowl kept creating itself through the second drying session. I used a cherry butterfly patch to keep it in place.

Elm Weed Pots! Fun to watch these tube vases, turned board straight, shift and twist within days. Nature is amazing

This piece was truly unique. Someone gave me a section of a tree that had grown around a wooden fence. The portion I turned largely dictated its own shape, as I wanted to preserve as much of its natural character as possible. I ended up sending it to a longtime friend.

One of my dependable helpers!

A friend drove around for 4 months with a small log of willow for me. I turned 2 small little bowls for a 9th anniversary gift. The recipient loved them!
